Blairstown Recreational Soccer

Spring Soccer:

Blairstown Soccer is working with SAGA FC to offer a Spring Clinic for Blairstown Residents. Registration typically opens in mid February and starts the week after spring break. Registration will be limited to ages 4 - 10, specifics will be announced when registration goes out. SAGA offers two 1-hour sessions per week for 6 weeks (a total of 12 sessions) with a professional trainer. This is intended to be a fun and informative soccer clinic. Players will learn skills appropriate for age / skill level for better development. One day will include sessions that help in player development, the other day will be small sided games / scrimmages. This will allow players to get as many touches as possible for growth.

Fall Soccer:

Fall Soccer registration will open right around Memorial Day and will be open until mid July (deadline to put teams in for the league). Fall recreational soccer is intended to primarily be for fun. The league promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, equal playing time, and a fun atmosphere. There is competition with other towns, but winning is not the primary mission. Volunteers Needed!

Blairstown Soccer is run entirely by volunteers. Every team needs a coach, but assistants and even team managers are critical to a successful season. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the town and help the kids out.

What:

The Blairstown Recreational Soccer League strives to develop a program that enables Blairstown residents a fun environment to develop all-around soccer skills and knowledge of the game. Pre-K (Mighty Tots) will be one practice a week, with the intent of having fun and getting used to the sport. Kindergarten and 1st grade will have 2 practices / week and games Saturday morning at Sycamore (this will be in-town teams only). Age 2nd grade and up will be part of the North West Jersey Soccer League, including Blairstown, Frelinghuysen, Knowlton, Hope, Belvidere, White Township, Oxford, Harmony, Hackettstown, Allamuchy, Franklin, and Washington. They’ll have two practices / week and  Saturday games, which can include travel to these towns.

Who:

Grades Pre-K (Must be 4) - 8th grade. 

Some of the older ages may not be able to fill a full team, but we may be able to combine with other towns, so please apply early!

Where:

All practices will be at Sycamore Park in NJ. After the teams are set, your coaches will be reaching out with more specifics on field locations. 2nd grade and above will play other towns, and half of the games will be at other locations.

When:

Weekday practices will start the week before Labor Day. Mighty Tots will practice 1 day / week. All other ages will practice 2 days / week. Days of the week will be based on Coach availability. Typically start times are 5pm.  We do our best to build teams and make practice days the same days for siblings, but we cannot guarantee anything. Games will start the week after Labor Day. Games are on Saturdays, but sometimes the league will put a game or two mid-week, you’ll be sent the schedule as soon as the league makes it.

What you need:

Everyone needs to come to practices and games with cleats, shin guards, and water. Feel free to bring your own ball if you want, but balls will be provided.

2nd grade and above will need a uniform (See picture below). If you have one from last year that still fits, feel free to use it again. You’ll need black shorts and socks, which can be purchased through registration or on your own. Mighty Tots and K/1st grade will be given tee shirt uniforms.

Cost:

$45 for Mighty Tots

$95 for Kindergarten and up. Uniforms will be extra and are available for purchase through registration.
